What is the Hack Ridge Junior Developer Camp?

The camp is a one-week immersive opportunity for middle to high school students to learn how to create their own video game. It is designed to kickstart students’ understanding of computer science and teach algorithmic thinking.

What will students do?

Students will learn how to code their own video game. While past camps have accomplished this using simple, drag-and-drop programming languages, this camp will show students how to do so using languages and practices used by software developers today. By the end of the camp, students will have created a web-based video game to play with their friends online!

Who is eligible to attend?

The camp was organized with students aged 11-15 in mind, but anyone is eligible to attend.

How much will it cost?

$100 for the week. This will include a t-shirt and a pizza lunch on the last day!

July 10-13 at Maine South High School from 9am-2pm.
